Welcome to the Catholic Committee on Scouting
The Archdiocese of New York encompasses over 4,000 square miles and is divided into 19 geographical areas (vicariates). The Catholic Committee on Scouting is dedicated to promoting “Duty to God” at each level of Scouting. We are affiliated with the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS), an advisory to the Boy Scouts of America, and the National Catholic
Committee on Girl Scouts. We are part of Region 2 of the NCCS.
Each year our committee holds several events to promote Catholic Scouting. These events include a National Catholic Leadership Development Course, Religious Emblems Counselor Training Sessions, a Scout Retreat, a Religious Emblem Recognition Ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, and a coordinated Scout Sunday events in local parishes with participating Catholic Scouts and Catholic-chartered units. We are able to accomplish these events because of the many dedicated leaders that donate their time and energy to providing a quality program.
Below you will find detailed information on the Catholic Committee on Scouting.
