• The admission fee for regular season games is $3 for adults and $2 for children. Players and 2 Coaches are admitted for free.
  

• Parental Etiquette: If a parent is disruptive during a game, the referee may warn the parent of his/her disruptive behavior. If the referee feels it necessary to remove a parent from the gym the game will be stopped until the parent leaves. In accordance with the bylaws when a parent is removed from a gym their child must leave with them. The above-mentioned parent will also be suspended for a minimum of one game.
• Spectators Etiquette: Spectators are not allowed to use negative language. Spectators shall not direct any conversations to, at or about the referee. Spectators are expected to cheer for the play of both teams. If ANY Spectator directs a conversation towards the referee challenging a refs call they will be warned ONCE and the second time they WILL BE REMOVED.
• The game ball is a solid WHITE Tachikara SV5W Gold volleyball.
• Coaches should perform the coin toss 10 min. prior to the game time and then start the warm-up procedure before the referee arrives
• The official warm-up procedure: Both teams warm-up together for 5 minutes, each team will warm-up on their side of the net
• Following the warm-up teams will be given 2 minutes of practice serving together
• The home team always chooses the side for the first game. The team that wins the first coin toss chooses serve or receive for the first game.
• The first two games of a match are 25 points, Winning teams must win by two or one team reaches the game cap of 36 points
• The 3rd and deciding game if needed is 15 pts. Game cap of 25 pts. Teams may switch sides at 8 points in the 3rd deciding game
• During the playoffs all games including the 3rd and deciding game will be played to 25 points with no game cap. Winning teams must win by two.
• The team that wins the "3rd Game" coin toss chooses serve, receive or side.
• There shall be two minutes between games.
• Each team receives two timeouts per game.
• Teams are allowed 18 substitutions.
• Jewelry is not permitted at any time.
• Hair barrettes are not allowed. Only soft hair devices worn to control hair are allowed.

Serving Rule Clarifications

• SERVE RECEIVE: A player receiving a serve MUST attempt to return the serve using a legal volleyball hit. If the player’s attempt to return the ball starts as a legal hit then the player is allowed to carry or double hit the ball. However, if the player’s attempt to return the ball starts as an ILLEGAL hit then the player is NOT allowed to carry or double hit the ball. This was discussed with the school’s directors and if you need clarification speak to them. The decision of the referee is FINAL. 
• There will be no serving out of the hand. All serves must clearly be out of the server's hand at the point of contact. The decision of the referee shall be final
• The server is given 5 sec. after the referee blows the whistle to serve the ball.
• A JV and Varsity server may serve from anywhere behind the respective serving line, within the sidelines extended. The server does not have to serve from behind position one and does not have to "be in position" at the time of serve.
• A varsity server is NOT allowed any "do over". The ball must be served on the first toss. A ball missed in the act of attempting a serve shall be counted as a serve, resulting in a side out and point for the other team.
• A J.V. server is allowed only one “do over” for her time as a server. For a “do-over” the ball must be tossed and then fall to the floor untouched. If the server touches the ball before it hits the floor it will be considered an attempted serve, resulting in a side out and a point for the other team. 

Court and Serving Lines Specifications

• Each side of the court is 9 meters by 9 meters square (9 meters is equivalent to 29' 6"), with 3 feet of clearance all around (from gym walls, stage, and other obstructions). If the existing court lines do not match this specification, the court lines should be altered using clearly marked floor tape, making the court dimensions as close to what is required while allowing for the 3 feet clearance.
• The JV serving line is 20 feet back from the net and must be clearly marked with floor tape across the entire court.
• The Varsity serving line is the back line of the court. As defined above, since the back line of the court has a 3-foot clearance, the varsity serving line will also have a 3-foot clearance.
• The net shall be at a minimum height of 6'9" and a maximum of 7'0". The variation between the sideline and center of the net shall not vary more than 3". That means that no part of the net should be lower than 6'9" and no part higher than 7'0".

General Etiquette Rules.

• Coaches should have players leave all articles of clothing, bags, etc. away from the bench areas. The players should only have their water bottles at the benches to facilitate the moves between games.
• All members of both teams shall line up at the back line prior to the first game and shake hands with the opponents when directed by the referee. The starting players shall then proceed to their starting positions.
  • The ball shall be rolled under the net at any time the ball is not in play.
  • Players shall remain at the back line for the coin flip for the third game.
    • Players and coaches are expected to shake hands at the completion of the match in a friendly and respectful manner.

Official Scorekeeper

• At the beginning of a match, the home team automatically is designated as the official scorer. If they can not provide a person capable then the ref may choose a person from visiting team.
• The official scorekeeper should be a responsible teenager or adult who should be completely knowledgeable and comfortable with the proper method of scorekeeping.
  • The referee is not responsible for tracking the score of the game.

• Front row players CAN NOT Spike or Set a ball back over the net on the FISRT hit.
• The NET MUST be anchored to the floor or strapped to the gym walls. The net’s height is a Maximum of 7’ and a minimum of 6’-9”.
• Substitutes MUST be made at the net.
• GAME BALL must be a White Tachikara Gold volleyball
• J.V. Players are allowed 1 do over serve for each time as a server. The ball must be tossed and then fall to the floor untouched. If the server touches the ball before it it’s the floor it will be considered an attempt to serve, resulting in a side out.
• NO serving out of the hand! ALL players on ALL levels. All serves must clearly be out of the server’s hand at the point of contact.
• NO JEWELRY!! This includes newly pierced ears. NO Tape over earrings is allowed.
